Home to Orang-utans, Rhinos, Lions, Dingos and Spider Monkeys Taronga Western Plains Zoo in located in Dubbo. This Zoo was opened in 1977 to the public and is home to many creatures. Some of these creatures are endangered, rare or threatened and the park is raising the community’s awareness to the plight of these animals.
A trip around the zoo is an amazing experience. You can travel around the world in just one day with out leaving the zoo.
Dubbo is located north west of Sydney and is a major cross roads of the Newell, Mitchell & Golden Highways. A stop over is recommended in Dubbo and besides the Zoo there is the old Dubbo Goal and the beautiful Japanese Gardens to visit.
