Airlie Beach is hardly a secret hidden location. For years it has been a Mecca for travellers both locally and internationally. As the Gateway to the Whitsunday islands and some of the worlds must see attractions it has been visited by people from all over the planet. With all this notoriety you would think that Airlie Beach would be over run with high rise hotels 24 hour eateries and be totally impersonal. Thankfully it has retained it charm and identity and has stayed true to the Airlie Beach culture of being down to earth. This in no way makes it backward. With some amazing restaurants, accommodation, shopping and the back drop of the azure sea it lets you experience the better things in life without the stress and massive crowds. Markets every Saturday, open air cinema, international yacht racing and the islands of the Whitsundays. Why wouldn’t you go.
In the next couple years Airlie Beach will sse its new facelift complete with the final stages of the new Airlie Beach Harbour being finalised. This new development will welcome ships, yatchs and boats from all over the world and new Harbourside accomodations
